I first met this family while shooting Chantal and Marcus’ wedding. Their son was the ring bearer and I will always remember the montage of images from his walk down the aisle trying his best to hold the hand of the (very) unwilling flowergirl. He definitely did the best he could! The idea was to capture the fall leaves at their peak of brilliance and I think we certainly did. It was a beautiful day: a photographer’s playground in every way.
The website for Spirt Ridge Vineyard Resort uses sentences like “dramatic, sun drenched landscapes”, “miles of vineyards” and “views of the beautiful Lake Osoyoos”, even “Napa of the North.” Certainly with descriptions like that, there is a lot to live up to. Brad and Sabrina’s wedding certainly did just that. After what seemed like an endless rain cloud over Calgary, it was INCREDIBLE to be out in the sun witnessing a beautiful couple celebrate their love; love that has surmounted distance and even countries, and even Winnipeg! (ok ok, I couldn’t resist!) Thank you for allowing me to capture your story, if only a new beginning to the rest of your lives together.
Lisa and Scott love eachother. They also love their dog Odin. And Odin definitely loves Lisa and Scott. Odin however, does not really enjoy having his picture taken, at least not when there is a whole other world of new smells to discover and sniff. But I love photography and I also love dogs so it really wasn’t a big deal to just wait for a moment or two while Odin moved here, there and well, everywhere. The great thing about pets is they tend to create a lot of laughter, which for me, is the best. We laughed a lot and I got to capture some amazing light and a couple very much in love. Enjoy!
It was a perfect Sunday afternoon, one of those gorgeous days that instantly puts a smile on your face. How can you be unhappy when the sun is shining and the sky is blue? The Wade family was an absolute delight to photograph on this most glorious summer day. 
They were happy, not only because the sun was shining, but because they were together as a family. Ok, ok this is getting too sappy, but seriously, they were constantly laughing and smiling and their bond definitely shone through from mom and dad to sisters to grandchildren. Ah love, isn’t it grand?
I’m sure you’ve probably noticed that I love weddings. And if you haven’t noticed, then I’ll tell you, I really LOVE weddings. I get caught up in the grandeur and the happiness of the occasion. I love that everyone loves each other, and that love is wholly and completely celebrated to its greatest capacity. It’s a smorgasbord of photographic delicacies and it’s all waiting for me to capture it through my lens. Pam and Nathan’s wedding was of course, no exception. In fact, Pam and I have known each other since we were three! I feel privileged to have been part of their day and hope that you enjoy this most recent post!
