Oh how they grow up so fast. Yes, I am part of that club of people who start sentences with “I remember when you were this tall…” or “it feels like yesterday when…” I’m not sure when it started but life really does seem to speed up as you get older and I don’t even consider myself old! I changed Little S’s diapers and fed her in a high chair. I played floor hockey for hours on end with not so little A. I started as their babysitter, actually taking on the name Babysitter, but somewhere along the line, the entire family embraced me as one of their own and became an extension to my own family. Their mom and I would chat for hours on end after their night out, sharing stories and talking about anything and everything. In fact, I’m feeling a little emotional as I write this entry… My ‘A’ is off to university. My little ‘S’ is no longer little, towering a few inches over me. I’ve watched them grow into caring, intelligent, noble, driven young adults right before my eyes and it just feels like I blinked. I love this family and am so excited to see where life takes them.
