Kristina & Dan – Married!

Kristina & Dan – Married!

Oh I always talk about the weather don’t I? It’s difficult not to considering how lucky we were to have a not-so-freezing day in February. But how about I start by saying that Kristina and Dan, despite being taller than a refrigerator (ha!), were absolute gorgeousness and a delight to spend the day with. It is incredibly inspiring to photograph such a happy and fun-loving bunch. Thank you for braving the (weather) and being such good sports. Onto the aforementioned gorgeousness!

first glance. I love. The intimacy of the moment allows all of the emotion to flow and be captured purely and honestly on film.

rock-candy 🙂

Hello 2011. I think we’ll get along just fine.

Hello 2011. I think we’ll get along just fine.

2010 was an amazing year in all aspects of my life. I’ve never been busier in my photography life and I’ve never been happier and more content in my personal life. I’m a huge believer in positivity and I have no doubt that 2011 will be even better. I absolutely love my work and I cannot wait to get to know you better, to capture your most precious moments and fulfill your visions and dreams. I am booked completely for weddings from the end of June through the end of August (except the weekend of Aug 6, that’s still available!) but if you are getting married in any other month in 2011 and beyond please contact me! Portrait and engagement sessions can always be booked in and around wedding season.

Now for some gorgeous families!

Lyndsay & Tim – Married!

Lyndsay & Tim – Married!

Lyndsay and Tim are living proof that two beautiful people can indeed produce a beautiful baby. And they can have beautiful friends stand with them on their wedding day on a (cold) but beautiful winter’s day. Little Ellie was the picture of good behaviour, smiling and cooing, as she watched her mommy and daddy wed high in a tower overlooking the city. Ellie probably won’t remember this day, but the pictures of  her parents will be a forever testament to the love they share not only for her but for each other. Thank you for sharing your love, laughter and beauty with me.  Enjoy the preview!

Lisa & Scott – Married in Fernie!

Lisa & Scott – Married in Fernie!

I have only ever driven ‘through’ Fernie as a short pit stop on a longer journey to the Okanagan and I had only ever seen the highway side of this small mountain town. And it wasn’t until I got to shoot here that I realized how much of a disservice I had been doing to my inner-photographer. Fernie is, without a doubt, one of the coolest places I have ever shot. Every building, every alley, every landscape is just spectacular and waiting and begging to be captured. Truly, this town is a photographer’s playground and we definitely had a lot of fun. Lisa and Scott wanted an intimate gathering in a setting that was unspoiled. RAW lodge, just outside of Fernie, provided the perfect backdrop to their day and of course, as mentioned above, the town of Fernie provided endless photographic opportunities for this stunning bridal party. Enjoy the sneak peek!

Thank you to my ever-fabulous second shooter Blair for her amazing time keeping skills and talent 🙂 http://blairmariephotography.blogspot.com

Another Fabulous family day

Another Fabulous family day

This past weekend was a busy one. Jennifer and Jason’s wedding on Saturday and then two great family shoots on Sunday. phew. These two shoots were certainly a case of “let boys be boys”. You’ll notice the age range in “boys” being from age 5 to well, NOT 5. HA. Clearly I’m referencing the Bell family who kept me and everyone else in stitches with some *great* posing suggestions, stories and general mischief. Now my other set of boys, part of the Ramsay family, were just as rambunctious and entertaining. I would actually love to spend a whole day with them at the river learning more about it and finally, perhaps one of these days learning how to skip a rock on water. Looking through both shoots trying to narrow down my blog selections has left me with a perma-grin. My husband will often look over at me while I’m going through images and he’ll usually find me staring intently at my computer screen with a giant grin on my face. This is now normal and he doesn’t comment all that much anymore.
